The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), will officially launch the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The launch ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. at the forecourt of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Accra and is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across Ghana’s agricultural value chain.
Participants will include representatives from corporate organisations, development partners, donor agencies, financial institutions, agribusinesses, researchers, and other actors within the agriculture sector.
According to the Ministry, the event will mark the commencement of activities leading to the 2026 National Farmers’ Day celebrations, which have, for more than four decades, recognised the invaluable contributions of farmers, fisherfolk, agricultural workers, agribusinesses, and institutions to Ghana’s food security and economic development.
As part of the launch, the Ministry will unveil the official theme for the 42nd edition of the celebration, announce the host region, and outline the programme of activities, award categories, and other key arrangements for the national event.
Officials will also provide details on sponsorship and partnership opportunities for organisations interested in supporting agricultural development and participating in the celebrations.
The Ministry noted that the launch will offer stakeholders an opportunity to engage with government officials and explore areas of collaboration aimed at ensuring the success of the National Farmers’ Day programme.
It further emphasized the critical role of the private sector and development partners in supporting Ghana’s efforts to promote sustainable agricultural growth, food security, value addition, and job creation.
The Ministry therefore encouraged stakeholders and interested organisations to participate in the launch and contribute to the continued growth and transformation of Ghana’s agricultural sector.
National Farmers’ Day is observed annually to honour individuals and institutions whose efforts contribute significantly to agricultural production and rural development across the country.
