The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has generated US$1.011 billion in foreign exchange (FX) from its Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) gold trade operations in October 2026.
The amount was generated in line with the Board’s statutory mandate under Section 2(b) of Act 1140, according to an official statement.
GoldBod disclosed that the entire US$1.011 billion generated was sold to authorised commercial banks through its GoldBod GoFX platform to support stability in the foreign exchange market during the month.
The statement said the transactions were conducted as part of efforts to make foreign exchange available to commercial banks and support market stability.

The Board also announced plans to generate US$1.2 billion in foreign exchange from its ASM gold trade operations in November 2026.

GoldBod said the planned foreign exchange sales would be conducted through its GoFX platform in accordance with the approved FX Sales and Intermediation Framework.
It explained that the framework is intended to ensure transparency, fairness and regulatory compliance in the allocation and sale of foreign exchange.
The Board further reaffirmed its commitment to generating foreign exchange for the country and supporting the accumulation of Ghana’s international reserves by the Bank of Ghana.
