Gunmen wearing masks reportedly stormed Sampa in the Bono Region on the afternoon of Sunday, October 5, opening fire in parts of the township during a violent clash between rival groups.
A police officer was reportedly hit and died on Sunday, while others sustained injuries.
A medical officer reportedly sent a message to health workers near the hospital, urging them to assist in handling the casualties.
Security officers have since called for reinforcement.
In an audio message shared on WhatsApp, a medical officer said multiple casualties had been recorded and appealed to health workers on standby to move to the hospital and provide support.
