The Gambia’s National Identity Management System (NIMS) has taken a major step towards effective implementation following a capacity-building training programme organised for government officials and technical teams responsible for supporting the system’s operations.
The training, conducted by Margins ID Group, focused on equipping participants with the practical skills, technical knowledge, and operational expertise required to manage the digital identity platform and deliver reliable identity services to citizens.
The sessions featured hands-on demonstrations, system management guidance, and operational support designed to prepare local teams for the day-to-day administration of the programme.
According to Margins ID Group, the success of a digital identity system depends not only on the technology deployed but also on the people responsible for managing and sustaining it.
The company said the initiative reflects its commitment to knowledge transfer, local capacity development, and ensuring that digital transformation efforts create long-term value for citizens and institutions.
“Successful digital transformation goes beyond technology.
It is about empowering people, transferring knowledge, and building local capacity to ensure long-term success,” Margins ID Group said.
The training follows the successful inauguration of The Gambia’s National Identity Management System, which is expected to support the creation of a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital identity ecosystem for the country.
Working alongside the Government of The Gambia, Margins ID Group said it remains committed to strengthening the technical and operational foundation needed to ensure the programme delivers trusted identity services for citizens.
