The Director of Elections and IT of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Gibril, has outlined the executive positions to be contested in the party’s upcoming constituency elections.
According to him, a total of 17 categories of positions will be available for election as the party seeks to constitute its constituency-level leadership.
The positions include Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Organizer and Deputy Organizer.
The list also includes Communication Officer, Deputy Communication Officer, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Youth Organizer, Deputy Youth Organizer and Other Youth Representative.
The remaining positions are Women’s Organizer, Deputy Women’s Organizer and eight other members.
He stressed that the constituency elections are expected to play an important role in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and positioning them for future political activities.
Mahdi Gibril’s announcement provides prospective candidates and party members with clarity on the positions to be contested as preparations for the elections gather momentum.
