President John Dramani Mahama’s job approval rating has remained steady at 67%, according to the latest National Tracking Poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, reflecting broad national support nearly a year into his administration.
The December 2025 survey shows that nearly seven in ten Ghanaians approve of the president’s performance, while 24% disapprove—a slight two-point increase from the previous quarter. About 9% of respondents expressed no opinion.
The poll highlights that President Mahama enjoys majority approval across all 16 regions, including areas traditionally considered strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). However, partisan divides persist: only 28% of NPP supporters approve of his performance, compared with 93% of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters. Floating voters also show strong backing, with 69% approving.
Public confidence in the country’s trajectory is also rising, with 66% of respondents believing Ghana is heading in the right direction. The survey attributes this optimism to perceived improvements in economic conditions, governance, and anti-corruption measures.
A separate finding from the nationwide poll indicates that 56% of Ghanaians believe their standard of living has improved over the past year, while 70% expect further improvements in 2026. Satisfaction with the 2026 national budget presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson is high, with 66% of respondents expressing approval.
On governance issues, 56% of respondents believe corruption levels have improved, and 60% feel the government is taking sufficient steps to address the problem. Meanwhile, 47% said illegal small-scale mining (galamsey) has not worsened under the current administration, with 43% of residents in mining-affected areas sharing the same view.
Global InfoAnalytics said the results reflect rising public approval of recent economic measures, governance reforms, and anti-corruption initiatives, which appear to be bolstering confidence in Ghana’s direction.
The survey was conducted between December 1 and 21, 2025, sampling 13,495 voters nationwide through web, telephone, and face-to-face interviews, with a 99% confidence level and a ±1.1% margin of error.
