President John Dramani Mahama has officially inaugurated the new governing board of the Lands Commission, tasking them with the responsibility to oversee operations of the Commission across the country.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, September 2, where President Mahama administered the oath of office and the oath of secrecy to the newly appointed board members.
Addressing the newly constituted board, President Mahama stressed the essence of women’s representation and called for a relook at the Affirmative Action Law to enforce the 30 per cent representation in public offices.
This comes in response to a concern raised by the Deputy Lands Minister, Yusif Sulemana, who highlighted the low women’s representation on the board, with the Chief Executive of the EPA, Prof. Nana Ama Klutse, being the only female on the board.
