The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), from June 6 to 7, 2025 joined industry leaders and policymakers at the Africa Agriculture and Investment Summit held in London.
The summit, organised by AgricWealth UK and Ghana in partnership with Ghana’s High Commission in the UK, was held under the theme “Building Wealth Through Agriculture and Green Energy.”

Speaking on behalf of the Authority, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Lateef Apau Wiredu, stressed the importance of investing in Ghana’s growing agricultural sector.

He highlighted Ghana’s vast agricultural potential, while calling on investors to take advantage of the Free Zones Programme to access incentives and position Ghana as a hub for agribusiness and manufacturing.
Mr. Wiredu also encouraged the international business community to explore investment opportunities in Ghana, particularly in agro-processing and agribusiness.

According to him, Ghana’s strategic location and stable investment climate make it an ideal gateway to West Africa and beyond.
Mr. Wiredu was accompanied by the Authority’s Director of Administration, Hajia Hanatu Abubakar-Bimi.

Other notable speakers at the summit included Dr. Peter Boamah Otukonor, Director of Presidential Special Initiatives on Agriculture and Agribusiness; Dr. Edwini Kessie, Head of Agriculture and Commodities at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva; Bright Evans Darko of Ghana EximBank.
The rest are Diana Afriyie Addo, Head of Trade and Investment at Ghana’s High Commission in the UK and Dr. Wisdom Dogbey, Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company.
