The government has confirmed that the investigation report on the August 6 military helicopter crash, which claimed eight lives, will be released to the public on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, following its presentation to the National Security Council on Monday, November 10.
The crash claimed the lives of senior officials, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment, Science and Technology Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who also served as MP for Tamale Central, along with Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, NADMO Deputy Director-General Samuel Aboagye, and three crew members.
Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced the schedule in a Facebook post on Sunday, November 9, noting that the report would first be presented to the National Security Council before being shared with the media.
The Z-9 utility helicopter went off radar on the morning of August 6 while en route from Accra to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. A 30-day investigation was conducted by a board chaired by National Security Coordinator Abdul-Osman Razak, with technical advisers from the United States Air Force assisting in the inquiry.
Mr. Ofosu said the media briefing will provide full details of the board’s findings and recommendations.
