More than GH₵1.5 million worth of merchandise has been destroyed after a late-night fire ravaged a mobile phone accessories shop in the Central Business District of Kasoa in the Central Region.
The incident occurred around midnight on Friday, March 27, when flames engulfed sections of a one-storey commercial building housing Man-Man Phones Accessories, rapidly spreading to the upper level.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service in Kasoa responded promptly to the emergency but were only able to contain the blaze to prevent it from consuming the entire structure. While the ground floor was salvaged, the upper floor and its contents were completely gutted.
The shop owner, Boniface Denyo, described the loss as devastating, noting that he had recently replenished his stock. “I restocked the shop a few days ago only to lose everything,” he lamented.
Items destroyed in the inferno included phone batteries, charging devices, and other technical accessories, along with cash estimated a GH₵26,400.
Authorities say investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
