National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East, Hon. Queenster Pokua Sawyer, will mark her birthday with a special celebration at Osamkrom Prison in the Gomoa Central Constituency of the Central Region.
In an interview with The Overseer Newspaper, Madam Pokua expressed her deep-seated compassion for humanity. She emphasized that not all prisoners are guilty, and even those who are deserve compassion and love.
“1st July is my birthday and I always celebrate my birthday with diverse groups, particularly the less privileged and vulnerable in our society. This year’s theme, ‘Spreading the Love,’ will see me celebrating at Osamkrom Prison in Gomoa East,” she stated.
The event will commence at 8 am with comprehensive health screenings for the inmates, conducted by a dedicated medical team comprising doctors and nurses. Every inmate will undergo a health check and receive necessary medication.
Later in the day, Hon. Pokua Sawyer will join the prisoners for a meal, sharing in their company and engaging in festive activities. She has also planned undisclosed donations for the inmates.
Madam Pokua believes that such acts of kindness not only uplift the spirits of those in need but also bring immense joy to her and her family.
