The Ministry of Health has commended the Ghana Police Service for the arrest and prosecution of Isaac Adu Gyamfi, who is alleged to have defrauded unemployed health professionals under the false pretense of securing jobs within the Ghana Health Service.

According to the Ministry, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect collected substantial sums of money from several job seekers after falsely claiming he could facilitate their recruitment into the health sector.

The suspect has since been arraigned before court and remanded into police custody pending further proceedings, while investigations continue.

The Ministry stressed that recruitment into the health sector is strictly conducted through approved and transparent processes, warning that no individual, group, or intermediary has been authorised to sell employment slots, offer protocol placements, or influence recruitment outcomes in exchange for money.

It therefore urged health professionals and job seekers to avoid making any payments to persons making such promises and to report suspected recruitment fraud to the nearest police station or through official Ministry communication channels.

The Ministry further disclosed that it is actively pursuing additional cases involving recruitment-related fraud, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, and remains committed to investigating and prosecuting all individuals involved in such schemes.
