The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Ghana Chapter, has announced a week-long series of activities for its 2026 Fraud Week celebration, scheduled to take place from November 16 to 22.

The celebration, themed “Building a Fraud-Aware Ghana: Recognize, Verify, Protect, Report,” will focus on raising public awareness, promoting fraud prevention and strengthening integrity among individuals and organisations.

The programme will feature media engagements, radio discussions, webinars, a health walk and a thanksgiving church service.

Activities will begin on Monday, November 16, with a media engagement, followed by an evening webinar on phishing, deepfakes and social engineering, focusing on how participants can stay safe.

On Tuesday, November 17, the chapter will hold a radio programme and an evening webinar on account takeover and digital payment fraud in Ghana.

The Wednesday, November 18, morning activity is yet to be announced, while the evening webinar will examine the emerging forms of fraud involving artificial intelligence, deepfakes and digital impersonation.

Thursday’s programme will feature an evening webinar titled “Follow the Money: How Financial Fraud Happens in Ghana,” while Friday’s session will focus on workplace fraud and how employees and organisations can become vulnerable to fraudulent activities.

On Saturday, November 21, participants will embark on a health walk at McCarthy Hill, scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m.

The evening webinar will examine major fraud schemes in Ghana under the title “Would You Fall for It? Ghana’s Biggest Fraud Scams Exposed.”

The week-long celebration will conclude on Sunday, November 22, with a thanksgiving church service at Accra Ridge Church at 10:00 a.m.

An evening webinar, titled “Don’t Lose Your Money: 20 Fraud Tricks Every Ghanaian Must Know in 2026,” will also be held.

The chapter is encouraging the public to remain alert, verify information before trusting it, protect personal and organisational assets, and report suspicious activities.

The Fraud Week celebration forms part of the ACFE Ghana Chapter’s efforts to promote a fraud-aware society and encourage collective action towards a fraud-free and corruption-free Ghana.
