Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu has publicly lauded Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, highlighting her enduring commitment to education, gender equity, and inclusive governance.
Speaking during her visit to the Ministry of Education in Accra, Mr. Iddrisu described her leadership as transformative and expressed his hope that she may one day make history as Ghana’s first female president.
Reflecting on her past tenure as Education Minister, he said, “It’s my pride and honor to welcome you back to the Ministry, this time in an elevated capacity, as the first female Vice President of our Republic. It is my prayer that Allah will give you long life and good health, that probably you will be envisaged to become the first female President.
I pray that Allah grants you strength. For I’ve been in cabinet with you, and I can say without contradiction that you remain an unfashion champion of education and gender rights and gender interest and inclusiveness generally in the pursuit of government policy.”
He continued to emphasize her impact, wishing her continued strength and longevity.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who previously served as Minister of Education, made history in 2024 when she was sworn in as Ghana’s first female Vice President, a milestone celebrated by government officials and citizens alike for her dedication to education and social inclusion.
This visit underscores her ongoing influence in shaping national education policies and advancing gender inclusivity, while also inspiring a new generation of female leaders in Ghana.
