The Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, says Ghana’s digitalization drive has received a major boost with the official launch of the National Investment Bank (NIB) mobile application and the Ubuntu initiative.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the sector minister, Samuel Nartey George, Sukparu described the launch as a clear reflection of the nation’s collective ambition to embrace digital transformation.

He commended the board, management, and staff of NIB for achieving what he called a significant milestone, adding that the Ministry remains committed to supporting initiatives that advance Ghana’s digital future.
“This launch comes as Ghana is actively accelerating its digitalization agenda under the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana. The national goal is focused on building a 24-hour economy driven entirely by technology,” he said.
The objective, he noted, is to ensure that every Ghanaian—regardless of location—can access secure, convenient, and inclusive financial services at any time.

Sukparu emphasized that the new NIB mobile app is more than just a banking tool. He described it as a gateway to financial empowerment that enables individuals and businesses to transact seamlessly, safely, and securely, thereby supporting broad participation in the digital economy.
He added that the development aligns fully with the Ministry’s national strategy to deepen financial inclusion, strengthen the digital ecosystem, and promote cashless transactions.

He also highlighted the significance of launching the NIB mobile app alongside the Ubuntu initiative.
According to him, “while technology is instrumental in driving efficiency and innovation, the Ubuntu initiative serves as a vital reminder that humanity and empathy must remain fundamentally at the heart of service delivery. It is this potent combination of technological innovation and humanistic values that is expected to set the National Investment Bank apart and establish it as a trusted partner in Ghana’s sustained economic transformation.”

Sukparu encouraged citizens and businesses to take full advantage of the platform, urging them to embrace digital tools like the NIB mobile app to make their banking experiences faster, safer, and more inclusive.
He also called on the National Investment Bank to uphold the highest standards of security and customer care as it rolls out its new digital services.
