The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has contained two separate fire incidents in Teshie Fertilizer and Kotobabi Down in the Greater Accra Region, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby properties.
The incidents occurred on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, according to the GNFS.
At Teshie Fertilizer, personnel from the Trade Fair Fire Station responded to a domestic fire and contained it within minutes. The blaze was restricted to a 16 kVA solar inverter, limiting the extent of the damage.
At Kotobabi Down, near Antrack Filling Station, firefighters from the Circle Fire Station battled a commercial fire involving metal containers. The alert was received at 4:00 a.m., with the crew dispatched a minute later. The fire was brought under control at 4:45 a.m. and fully extinguished at 5:40 a.m.
Five metal containers were completely destroyed, while firefighters salvaged two adjoining containers, preventing the fire from spreading further.
The GNFS confirmed that no injuries or casualties were recorded in either incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the fires.
