Ghana is expanding its defence and transport capabilities with its first order of Airbus helicopters. The Ministry of Defence has acquired two H175Ms for multi-mission operations, alongside one ACH175 and one ACH160 for transport and corporate use.
The H175Ms will be deployed for a variety of tasks, including search and rescue, disaster relief, emergency medical services, and general transport. The ACH175 and ACH160 will focus on transport, providing modern, reliable solutions for both government and corporate needs.

We are particularly excited that the H175M will be operated in Ghana, demonstrating the aircraft’s versatility across defence and security missions. This key deal also makes Ghana a leading customer in West Africa for our premium corporate helicopters, the ACH160 and ACH175.”
The H175, part of the super-medium helicopter class since 2014, combines long-range performance with high payload capacity and smooth flight characteristics. It is designed for both civilian and military applications, including offshore transport, public service, and emergency response.
The ACH160, the newest addition to Airbus’ corporate helicopter line, incorporates 68 patented technologies. It provides 20 percent more passenger cabin volume than previous medium twin helicopters and 35 percent larger windows, offering a bright and spacious cabin experience.
With this acquisition, Ghana strengthens its air mobility, defence readiness, and disaster response capacity, while also becoming a leading operator of Airbus’ advanced helicopter models in the West African region.
