Ghana has launched a first-ever one-day passport delivery service, offering travellers a super expedited solution for urgent situations.
Announcing the initiative on X, the minister for foreign affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said, “Get a Passport in 1-Day! Our bold and innovative passport reforms continue. Introducing the first-ever 1-Day Passport Delivery Service. Finally, a super expedited solution to take care of all emergencies.”
He explained the purpose of the service, adding, “From discovering your passport has expired on your way to the airport or having a medical emergency — we have got you covered. Implementation begins on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Special charges apply.”
Ablakwa clarified that the new service is distinct from the regular passport application process, stating, “NB: Your GHS350 new passport application fee will still guarantee you an efficient and convenient delivery in less than 15-days. This novel service is strictly for same-day deliveries.”
The standard passport, whose fee has been reduced to GHS359, will also take effect from Thursday, November 13, and is expected to be delivered within 15 days.
