President John Dramani Mahama has underscored Ghana’s vision to become a leading production and export hub for Africa, while strengthening bilateral ties with the Republic of Korea.
Speaking during bilateral talks with the Korean President, Mahama highlighted the historic and values-driven relationship between the two countries.
“Ghana and Korea often find themselves taking similar positions on many issues at the United Nations and other international forums. So, our relationship is not defined by the distance between our two countries, but rather by the similarity of the values we share,” he said.

The President revealed plans to leverage Ghana’s natural and human resources to expand industrial production and exports across the continent.
“Our goal is to position Ghana as a hub for production and exports to the rest of Africa,” he stated, emphasizing opportunities for partnerships with technologically advanced countries like Korea.

Mahama also highlighted initiatives to boost agriculture and industrial processing, including value addition in cocoa and other key sectors.
On Ghana’s economic recovery, he noted the country’s resilience following recent financial challenges.
“Ghana has also emerged from a recent financial crisis. We have successfully restructured our debt, and our economy is now back on track,” he said, pointing to improvements in inflation, currency stability, and debt management.

The discussions reflect Ghana’s strategy to combine domestic strengths with international partnerships to drive industrial growth, trade, and economic stability.
