The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has donated essential items to the Ghana Prisons Service as part of activities marking its 30th anniversary celebration.
The donation, made by a delegation led by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance and Administration, Hamidu Sibiri Musah, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Lateef Apau Wiredu, is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.

The gesture follows an earlier engagement in July 2025 between the Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, and the Chief Executive Officer of GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, to explore possible areas of partnership.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Accra, Mr. Musah explained that the initiative formed part of the Authority’s corporate social responsibility programme in commemoration of its 30th anniversary.
He said the Authority values partnerships with key public institutions and will continue to identify ways of contributing to national development.
Mr. Wiredu, for his part, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to promoting collaboration that benefits the wider society.

He also extended an invitation to the Prisons Service to participate in ongoing anniversary activities.
Receiving the items, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie expressed appreciation to the GFZA for what she described as a thoughtful and timely gesture. She said the donation marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership and invited the Authority to make use of the sporting facilities of the Service.
The items donated included laptops, bags of rice, toiletries, and assorted food items.

Also present were the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Evelyn Oye Asante; Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana; and other staff of the Authority.
The donation forms part of the GFZA’s broader effort to commemorate 30 years of promoting export-oriented investment and industrial growth in Ghana.
