The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, joined UNICEF Ghana and partner organizations to mark World Children’s Day at a special evening event in Accra.
The gathering brought together young people, government officials, development partners, and members of the media to celebrate children and reaffirm commitments to their protection, wellbeing, and development.

In her remarks, Dr. Lartey highlighted the importance of honoring and safeguarding children, noting that the future of society in the next 60 years will be shaped by the children of today.
She stressed the need for continued investment in safe, nurturing environments that support the growth and wellbeing of all children.

A delegation of adolescent girls who represented Ghana at the Adolescent Girls Summit in Dakar, Senegal, presented a regional declaration on girls’ rights to the Minister.
Dr. Lartey commended their advocacy efforts and pledged to work with stakeholders to incorporate the declaration’s priorities into national programs aimed at supporting girls.

The Minister concluded by urging all stakeholders to collaborate in safeguarding children’s rights and building an inclusive, equitable future for every child in Ghana.
