Malawi Defense Force Aircraft carrying Malawi Vice President has gone missing.
Statement dated 10th June 2024 signed by the Secretary to the President and Cabinet indicates that at “09:17, Defense Force Aircraft that left Lilongwe carrying the vice president, the Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, and 9 others failed to make it to its scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport at 10:02.
The statement said that all efforts by Aviation Authority to make contact with Aircraft since it went of the Rader have failed. The statement noted that the H.E Dr Lazarus Chakwera, the President has been informed and the President has canceled his schedule departure for the Bahamas and ordered all regional and national agencies to conduct immediate search and rescue operation to locate the whereabout of the Aircraft.
