Melcom Limited has confirmed that a fire outbreak occurred at one of its warehouse facilities at the Tema Free Zones on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
In a statement, the company said no casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident, adding that the safety and well-being of its employees, partners and surrounding communities remained its top priority.
Melcom expressed appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Police Service, emergency personnel and other first responders for their swift response in bringing the situation under control.
The company commended the responders for their professionalism, courage and dedication in managing the emergency.
According to Melcom, its management is working closely with relevant authorities to assess the incident and determine its cause.
The company is also conducting an internal assessment of the extent of damage and taking steps to secure the affected facility.
Although the incident has affected operations, Melcom assured customers and stakeholders that efforts were underway to restore normal activities with minimal disruption.
The company added that it would take the necessary steps to ensure continued availability of products and services to customers.
Melcom further thanked its employees, customers, business partners, stakeholders and members of the public for their concern, support and messages of encouragement following the incident.
