Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has called on staff of the Circle Tax Service Centre to intensify efforts toward meeting Ghana’s revenue targets, stressing discipline, integrity and the use of technology as key drivers of success.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 9, Dr. Forson said he earlier visited the Centre to engage with staff, listen to their concerns and motivate them to deliver on their mandate.
“Earlier today, I visited the Circle Tax Service Centre to listen, encourage, and chart a clear path toward meeting our revenue targets,” he stated.

According to the Finance Minister, the country’s revenue goals are realistic and within reach if officers remain focused and committed to their responsibilities.
“I reminded the team that our national targets are conservative and absolutely achievable,” he said, adding that, “what we need now is commitment, discipline and integrity in the way we mobilise revenue.”

Dr. Forson underscored the need to limit external interference in tax administration while strengthening compliance mechanisms and expanding the use of digital tools.
“The only way forward is to reduce interference, strengthen compliance, and scale up the use of electronic tools that seal loopholes and improve efficiency,” he noted.
He further signalled a firm leadership stance on performance, making it clear that excellence will be recognised while negligence will attract sanctions.

“I am determined to reward those who work hard and deliver results — and equally determined to hold accountable anyone whose actions or inactions undermine the growth of the tax offices or our national revenue efforts,” the Finance Minister said.
