The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has expressed concern over media reports following the recent High Court ruling in the case of *Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. v. The Food and Drugs Authority*.
Some reports have suggested that the current CEO, Dr. Delese Darko, was negligent, leading to the Authority’s legal defeat. However, the FDA clarified that the case originates from actions taken in 2013 under the leadership of then-CEO Dr. Stephen Opuni.
The FDA stressed that since the legal action began in 2019, its leadership has consistently defended the Authority in court. Although the FDA acknowledges the High Court’s judgment, it disagrees with the ruling and intends to appeal the decision.
The Authority remains committed to upholding the judicial process and adhering to the rule of law, promising to follow due process until the matter is fully resolved.
