Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming its operations through a comprehensive modernisation programme aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste and positioning the state-owned refinery to compete with leading refineries around the world.

In a statement, the refinery said its ongoing reset agenda is focused on combining its long-standing legacy with modern technology and world-class operational standards.

According to TOR, the transformation programme includes investments in high-efficiency infrastructure and advanced monitoring systems designed to optimise operations, improve productivity and enhance overall performance.

The refinery noted that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to eliminate operational inefficiencies while ensuring that local petroleum refining meets international standards.

“Our reset is about marrying legacy strength with world-class, modern efficiency,” the refinery stated.

TOR added that the adoption of modern technologies and improved operational systems will help strengthen its competitiveness, reduce waste and reinforce confidence in Ghana’s refining capacity.

The refinery expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms will demonstrate that local refining can operate at the same level as global industry leaders while contributing to Ghana’s energy security and industrial development.

The modernisation agenda comes as Tema Oil Refinery continues efforts to reposition itself as a key player in the country’s downstream petroleum sector through improved operational performance and sustainable growth.
