Delta Air Lines has reintroduced its non-stop flight service from Accra to Atlanta in the United States, a development the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says will significantly boost Ghana’s global connectivity.
This was announced by the Minister in a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 2. According to him, the renewed service commenced operations on Monday, December 1, 2025.
He added that Ghana also welcomes a major milestone in its aviation relations with Canada, as Air Transat is set to launch a historic non-stop flight from Accra to Canada beginning June 17, 2026.
“I am excited about the re-introduction of Delta Air Lines non-stop flight from Accra to Atlanta (USA) which commenced operations yesterday, December 1, 2025. Ghana equally applauds Air Transat of Canada for initiating a historic non-stop flight from Ghana to Canada which begins on June 17, 2026,” he wrote.
Ablakwa noted that both developments are expected to advance Ghana’s economic diplomacy efforts, deepen trade relations, boost tourism, and enhance travel convenience for Ghanaians.
“These refreshing developments will accelerate our economic diplomacy objectives, boost trade and tourism, and offer value and convenience mainly to Ghanaian travellers,” he added.
