Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, goes home today, Saturday, December 13, 2025, for his final funeral after months of legal disputes and family disagreements over the arrangements.
The Accra High Court had earlier issued an injunction to halt the burial, but it was nullified after the maternal family failed to pay the GH¢2 million undertaking to the family head, Kofi Owusu, who led the funeral preparations.
The service took place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and attracted thousands of mourners, including President John Dramani Mahama, political leaders, music industry figures, and fans. The remains were later taken to his hometown for a private, traditional interment.
Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, leaves behind a musical legacy of over three decades, more than 30 albums, and numerous awards, securing his status as one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians.
