The family of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu—widely known as Daddy Lumba—has opened a book of condolence to allow the public to pay tribute to the iconic musician who passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
In a statement issued by Baba Jamal & Associates, legal representatives of the Fosu family, the condolence book will be available for signing at the late musician’s private residence on Kinshasha Crescent, Accra, starting Tuesday, July 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
The announcement comes as the nation mourns the loss of the 60-year-old music icon, who died while receiving treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra.
As part of the arrangements to honour his memory, a candlelight vigil will be held at Independence Square on Saturday, August 2, at 6:00 p.m. under the auspices of the Creative Arts Agency.
The vigil is expected to bring together fans, colleagues, and members of the public in a solemn celebration of Daddy Lumba’s life and musical legacy.
Presidency has assured the family that Daddy Lumba will be given a befitting state-assisted burial in recognition of his significant contributions to Ghana’s music and cultural heritage.
The family expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and support since the news of his passing broke and has urged the public to continue to respect their privacy.
Final funeral details, according to the family will be announced in due course.
