The National Labour Commission (NLC) has obtained a court order to serve the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) through substituted service including WhatsApp.
The association claims it has not received an interlocutory injunction the NLC has secured on June 5 regarding its ongoing strike.
The NLC had secured an injunction on June 5, 2025, ordering GRNMA to halt its strike, deemed illegal due to non-compliance with procedural requirements under the Labour Act.
Despite this, GRNMA insists it won’t cease the strike until officially served with the injunction.
On Tuesday, the Labour Division of the Accra High Court presided over by Justice Priscilla Dikro Ofori after hearing the submissions of ALEXANDER OWUSU JNR., ESQ. Counsel for the NLC ordered that the application for substituted Service is granted as prayed.
The Court said Defendant/Respondent is to be served with the Order of Interlocutory Injunction granted on June 5, 2025 together with a copy of this order in the following manner:
a. By posting a copy of the Order of Interlocutory Injunction granted on Thursday the 5th day of June, 2025 together with a copy of this order on the High Court’s Notice Board, Accra.
b. By posting a copy of the Order of Interlocutory Injunction granted on Thursday the 5ht day of June, 2025 together with a copy of this Order on the entrance of the Defendant/Respondent’s office.
c. By Serving a copy of the Order of Interlocutory Injunction granted on Thursday the ‘ day of June, 2025 together with a copy of this order through the WhatsApp.
