The Court of Appeal has overturned the conviction of former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe, bringing an end to the criminal case against her.
In a ruling, the appellate court acquitted and discharged Ms. Tamakloe, setting aside the High Court’s earlier judgment, which had convicted her of causing financial loss to the state and other related offences.
The decision means the previous conviction and sentence imposed by the High Court no longer stand, with the Court of Appeal effectively clearing Madam Sedina the charges in the case.
