The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has called for the immediate implementation of the agreed new salary structure, threatening an industrial strike.
The Association, in a statement dated Thursday, June 12, issued a two-week ultimatum to the government to implement a unique salary structure and improved conditions of service for its members or face a nationwide strike.
This follows an Emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on Thursday, June 12, in response to growing pressure from members over what they describe as undue delays in implementing agreed-upon conditions.
According to CLOGSAG, several correspondences—including letters dated December 20, 2024, and May 6, 2025, as well as multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), have addressed the need for a revised salary structure and improved service conditions, but none has been resolved.
In a resolution passed at the NEC meeting, CLOGSAG called on the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment to ensure the full implementation of the new salary regime and accompanying service conditions.
CLOGSAG maintains that the proposed changes are crucial to addressing long-standing disparities and improving morale within the civil and local government workforce.
