Producers of the Bel Beverages, BlowChem Industries Limited, has announced reduction in prices across most of its products due to the cedi appreciation.
Since January 2025, the cedi has posted significant gains against major foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar.
As of April, Bloomberg ranked it the world’s best-performing currency, with the local currency currently trading at approximately GH₵10.30 to the dollar.
The price cut, according to the company takes effect Sunday, June 1, 2025.
In a statement, the company explained that the recent appreciation of the cedi against major foreign currencies has created a more favourable business environment, prompting it to ease the financial burden on customers.
BlowChem also called on its supply chain partners, including wholesalers and retailers, to align with the revised pricing structure so that the full benefit reaches end consumers.
The statement noted, “Dear Valued Customer, We are pleased to inform you that, effective June 1, 2025, BlowChem Industries Limited will be implementing price reductions across the majority of our beverage product range. This decision follows the recent and significant appreciation of the Ghana Cedi against major international currencies, which has created more favorable economic conditions. In line with our commitment to fairness and transparency, we believe it is only right to pass these benefits on to you, our loyal customers.”
“During difficult times, we assured you that we stood with you. Today, we are proud to honour that promise by being the first in the industry to reduce prices in response to the current economic improvement. We are also encouraging all our distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners to reflect these reductions in their own pricing, ensuring that you, the end consumer, receive the full benefit of this positive development.
