Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Black Stars following their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars sealed their World Cup qualification with a narrow but decisive 1–0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday night, courtesy of a goal from Mohammed Kudus.
The win marked Ghana’s return to the global tournament, reaffirming its place among Africa’s footballing giants.
In a statement issued by the Parliamentary Service, Mr. Bagbin praised the team’s determination, unity, and fighting spirit, describing their qualification as a proud moment that rekindles national pride and showcases Ghana’s enduring football legacy.
The Speaker said, commending the players, technical team, and support staff for their effort throughout the qualifiers.
Mr. Bagbin urged the team to maintain their focus and commitment as they prepare to face the world’s best on football’s biggest stage.
He also called on Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars in unity, emphasizing that their journey represents more than sport—it symbolizes the collective hope and aspirations of the nation.
