Four armed men have allegedly attacked the Glory Filling Station at Ekye Amanfrom in the Eastern Region, assaulting the station manager and firing several shots before fleeing the scene.
The robbery occurred at about 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, when the suspects, reportedly armed with an AK-47 rifle and two cutlasses, stormed the facility.
Public Relations Officer of Glory Filling Station, Donatus Peter, said the attackers assaulted the station manager and demanded money from him.
The manager reportedly told the assailants that there was no money available at the station, prompting them to fire several rounds before escaping.
Some of the bullets struck a fuel tank and parts of the station’s walls. No customers were at the facility at the time of the incident, while workers who noticed the attackers were able to flee to safety.
According to Peter, the station has previously been targeted in armed robbery incidents.
Police officers subsequently visited the facility to assess the scene and commence investigations.
No arrests have been reported, and investigations are ongoing.
