The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested 27 suspects during a special Christmas security operation carried out across several parts of the region.
According to a post by the Ghana Police Service on X on Friday, December 26, 2025, the arrests followed targeted, intelligence-led operations conducted in Salaga, Damongo, Buipe and Bole as part of measures to enhance public safety during the festive season.

The Police said the exercise formed part of its Christmas special operations aimed at preventing crime, maintaining law and order, and reassuring residents of heightened security throughout the holidays.
The suspects were picked up at various locations during patrols, swoops and stop-and-search exercises. Items retrieved during the operations, as well as the specific offences involved, were not immediately disclosed.

The Savannah Regional Police Command assured the public that similar operations would continue across the region to deter criminal activity and ensure a peaceful Christmas and New Year celebration.

The Police further urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and report suspicious activities to help maintain safety in their communities.
