The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has held its Fourth Quarter Ministerial Advisory Board Meeting to assess progress, discuss key policy matters, and enhance collaboration in pursuit of the Ministry’s strategic goals.
The Advisory Board, established under Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327) and reinforced by the Civil Service (Ministerial Advisory Board) Regulations, 2010 (L.I. 1961), functions as a statutory body that promotes ongoing engagement between the Ministry and its stakeholders.
Its mandate includes advising the sector Minister on policy development, planning, and the effective implementation of the Ministry’s programs.
The Board also provides a forum for dialogue on emerging issues in social protection, gender, and child welfare, ensuring that the Ministry’s policies and initiatives remain responsive to national priorities and aligned with government development objectives.
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, praised the Advisory Board members for their unwavering support and technical guidance in advancing the Ministry’s mission.
She highlighted that the Ministry’s capacity to protect vulnerable populations, promote gender equality, and ensure the welfare of children and families relies heavily on strong policies and strategic partnerships.
Dr. Lartey stressed that the Board plays a vital role in ensuring the Ministry delivers its mandate effectively and sustainably.
The meeting also featured a presentation of the Ministry’s accomplishments so far, as well as discussions on future policy direction.
