The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially announced a new date for the resumption of parliamentary sittings following the earlier postponement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament.
This update comes after the Speaker earlier postponed the meeting indefinitely due to unspecified circumstances.
In a formal notice issued from his office on Wednesday, October 8, 2025*, the Speaker stated that the Third Meeting will now commence on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Parliament House, Accra.
The notice, titled “RE: Notice of Commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana,” cited Order 58 of Parliament’s Standing Orders as the basis for the revised schedule.
The new date restores clarity to the parliamentary calendar, paving the way for legislators to reconvene and consider key national matters following the recess.
