The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced a one-week extension for the stakeholder committee tasked with reviewing DStv pricing in Ghana.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the committee, which began work on September 8, 2025, is now expected to present its report by September 29, 2025.
The extension, granted by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, will allow the committee to finalize consultations and propose measures that are both commercially viable and mutually acceptable to address concerns over DStv pricing.
The NCA noted that the committee’s work also includes developing a roadmap to curb cross-border piracy of DStv decoders and services from Nigeria.
While significant progress has been made, additional time is needed to harmonize stakeholder positions.
The Authority emphasized that the final recommendations will guide government efforts to ensure fair pricing for consumers while safeguarding the broadcasting market.
