The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced August 7, 2025, as the final deadline for tertiary students seeking fee reimbursements under the government’s “No Fees Stress” policy for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The extension follows widespread concerns from student unions and parents over delays in accessing the application portal. The SLTF says the move is intended to ensure that no eligible student is left behind.
In a statement dated Thursday, July 31, SLTF noted that this is the last opportunity to apply, cautioning that there will be no further extensions beyond August 7.
The “No Fees Stress” policy was introduced to ease the financial burden on students and prevent economic hardship from disrupting access to higher education.
According to the Fund, the data gathered through the ongoing application process will help streamline the planned rollout of a full “No Academic Fee Policy” in the 2025/2026 academic year.
Students are encouraged to complete their submissions via nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh. Support is also available through the SLTF call center and official email.
In a related development, the Minister for Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has revealed that over 106,000 students have already benefited from the programme.
“106,235 students reimbursed under “No Fees Stress” programme!”
He said the initiative has proven crucial in easing access to tertiary education, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that financial difficulties do not stand in the way of academic success.
