The National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Ernest Mohamed Adjiri, for the unlawful possession of suspected narcotic drugs following a special intelligence-led operation in the Greater Accra Region.
The operation, executed by a team of officers, led to the discovery of 120 slabs of compressed dried leaves believed to be narcotics.
The items, according to the police were concealed in three fertilizer sacks and transported in a Hyundai i10 taxi with registration number GW 9832-22.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted ownership of the substances.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Police confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be arraigned before court.
