A severe traffic jam has crippled movement on the Accra-Tema Motorway after a tipper truck loaded with stones overturned.
The truck overturned in the middle of the motorway, spilling its load and blocking multiple lanes between the 18 Junction and the 1st Signboard area. As a result, commuters have been stuck in gridlock for over an hour, with vehicles barely moving in either direction.
Emergency services were yet to respond to the scene at the time of reporting, with no police presence to control the worsening traffic congestion.
The incident has left both private and commercial drivers stranded, with many expressing frustrations over the lack of swift response.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the stretch and use alternative routes to minimise delays.
