The government has reviewed the curfew hours imposed on Hamile Township and its surrounding communities in the Lambussie District of the Upper West Region, changing the restrictions to 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
The revised curfew takes effect on Thursday, November 5, 2026, following an Executive Instrument issued by the Minister for the Interior on the advice of the National Security Council.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior in Accra on Thursday, the government urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and residents of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting the community.
It also encouraged residents to use non-violent means to express their grievances and work towards maintaining peace in the area.
The review forms part of efforts to address security concerns in Hamile Township and its environs while encouraging peaceful engagement among residents and community stakeholders.
