The Chief Executive Officer of Maxwell Investments Group (MIG), Dr Maxwell Ampong, has welcomed the Acting Managing Director of Ignite Media Group, Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Afriyie, and his management team to MIG for discussions on strengthening collaboration in entrepreneurship education, thought leadership and community development.
Ignite Media Group operates Metro TV, Original TV, Original FM and Metro Digital.
The engagement focused on exploring how the two organisations could leverage their respective networks and influence to create more opportunities for Ghanaians, particularly through education, entrepreneurship and community-focused initiatives.
According to Dr Ampong, the value of a media organisation should not be measured solely by its audience reach but also by its ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Dr Ampong highlighted the organisations’ existing collaboration, which has helped connect Ghanaians to entrepreneurship education through Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and its 100 Million Learners initiative at no cost to learners.
The initiative provides access to learning opportunities designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and related fields.
Building on the existing partnership, the discussions explored opportunities to broaden the collaboration and connect more people to educational and development initiatives.
Beyond entrepreneurship education, the two teams considered how their combined networks could support thought leadership, engagement with traditional institutions and community development.
Dr Ampong emphasised that institutions could create greater value when they used their influence to open opportunities beyond their immediate organisational interests.
He also highlighted the potential role of the media in supporting development, arguing that media organisations could contribute not only by reporting on issues but also by helping drive positive change.
“Media can do more than report on development. Media can help drive it,” he said.
The engagement reflects MIG’s interest in building partnerships that combine media reach, educational opportunities and institutional networks to support entrepreneurship and community advancement in Ghana.
