The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has hosted a delegation from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), accompanied by its Petroleum Commission (PC), as part of an information exchange programme in Ghana.
The delegation visited TOR on October 21, 2026, to learn about the refinery’s operations and gain insights into Ghana’s experience in local crude oil refining.
The team was welcomed by TOR Managing Director, Mr. Edmond Kombat and Deputy Managing Director, Alhaji Mustapha Batalima Abubakar, who shared information about the refinery’s business and operations.
During the visit, TOR’s technical team briefed the delegation on the refining process, explaining how crude oil is processed into finished petroleum products.
The Head of delegation, Mr. Arthur Musinguci, said the engagement would help the team gain a better understanding of the various stages involved in refining, particularly the processing of locally produced crude oil.
He added that the delegation was keen to learn from TOR’s experience as Uganda advances its plans to establish a refinery.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the delegation to exchange views with TOR’s leadership on refinery operations and related experiences.
