Police have retrieved the body of an 11-year-old girl who went missing at Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region, with two Nigerian nationals arrested in connection with her suspected murder.
The girl, identified as Blessing Innocent, was reported missing by her mother on Monday, October 19, two days after she was last seen.
The Central East Regional Police Command said the mother lodged the report with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Gomoa Buduburam District Police, indicating that her daughter had been missing since Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Investigations led police to two neighbours the girl had reportedly visited at about 8:30 a.m. on the day she disappeared.
The suspects are Kingsley Ozor, 40, an autobody sprayer, and Jeffery Otaigbe, 19, an apprentice. They were arrested on Tuesday, October 20.
The police said the suspects acknowledged during interrogation that the girl had been with them on the date in question.
“In the course of interrogation, the suspects Kingsley Ozor and Jeffery Otaigbe admitted the deceased was with them on the above date,” the statement said.
Further investigations allegedly led to the discovery of the girl’s body beneath some shrubs after Otaigbe directed officers to the location.
The body was taken to the morgue of St. Gregory Catholic Hospital, with an autopsy at the Police Hospital being arranged.
The police have not concluded their investigations, and both suspects remain in custody to assist with the process.
