The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, John Dumelo, has donated new school desks to the Roman Ridge M/A Basic School in the constituency following an appeal from the school authorities.
The donation is aimed at addressing the shortage of suitable furniture at the school, where several of the existing wooden desks had become weak, worn out and unfit for use by pupils.
The intervention has enabled several classrooms to have their old desks completely replaced with new ones, providing pupils with more suitable furniture for teaching and learning.
The school authorities had earlier raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of the desks and called for support to improve the learning environment.
Mr Dumelo, in responding to the appeal, said the wellbeing and educational development of children in the constituency remained a priority, stressing the importance of providing pupils with a conducive environment to learn.
He said the donation is expected to improve classroom conditions and contribute to a more comfortable and effective learning experience for pupils at the Roman Ridge M/A Basic School.
