Former Ghanaian boxer Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has appealed to the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to forgive fellow boxer Ayitey Powers following his arrest and remand over alleged threats.
Bukom Banku is urging the NSA Director-General to consider forgiving Ayitey Powers and allow the matter to be resolved amicably.
His appeal comes after Powers was reportedly arrested and remanded in connection with alleged threats made against Mr. Ampofo Ankrah.
The development has attracted attention within Ghana’s boxing community, with Bukom Banku calling for calm and reconciliation between the two parties.
He appealed to the NSA boss to show forgiveness and help bring an end to the dispute.
Ayitey Powers, a prominent figure in Ghanaian boxing, remains at the centre of the legal proceedings, while the circumstances surrounding the alleged threats continue to be addressed through the appropriate channels.
Bukom Banku’s intervention is expected to contribute to efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote reconciliation within the boxing fraternity.
