Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Dr Shafic Suleman, has visited Karpowership as part of the Commission’s working tour of the Western Region.
The visit provided an opportunity for Dr Suleman and his delegation to gain a deeper understanding of Karpowership’s contribution to Ghana’s electricity supply and to strengthen collaboration between the regulator and power producers.
Dr Suleman said power producers remained critical stakeholders in Ghana’s efforts to ensure a reliable and stable electricity supply, stressing the importance of maintaining strong relationships among regulators and utility-sector players.
The PURC delegation engaged management and staff of Karpowership on issues relating to the company’s operations and its role in Ghana’s energy sector.
The engagement forms part of the Commission’s broader efforts to improve cooperation with key stakeholders and promote efficiency, reliability and value for money within the utility sector.
Dr Suleman expressed appreciation to the management and staff of Karpowership for the reception and reaffirmed the PURC’s commitment to working with power producers to support a more resilient and responsive energy system.
He said the Commission would continue to engage industry stakeholders as part of efforts to help maintain stability in Ghana’s power supply.
The working tour of the Western Region is part of the PURC’s ongoing stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight and improving the delivery of essential utility services to consumers.
