The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has denied viral claims of non-payment of the 2025 rent allowance to its personnel.
In a statement, the GNFS denied the allegation, describing it as “false and unfounded”, explaining that the final tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026.
“Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026,” the GNFS stated.
The Service also provided an update on the 2026 rent allowance, saying a committee had been put in place to facilitate the payment.
“With regards to the 2026 rent allowance, we wish to inform all personnel that a committee is in place to ensure the mechanization takes effect soon,” it said.
The GNFS assured personnel of its commitment to addressing their welfare concerns, including compensation, and said it would continue to provide transparent information.
It urged the public to disregard the social media report and refrain from circulating what it described as misinformation.
